The Xilo-Baumschutz can be installed in two ways.

You can shape the growth cover in advance and then attach it to the stake,

or you can install the tree guard directly on the stake without any preparatory work.

Our recommendation:

Pre-tie and twist for 9-fold and 11-fold Xilo-growth cover

Attach directly to the stake for Xilo-sweep protection

Variant with pre-tying of the Xilo-growth cover

Roll up the Xilo-growth cover

1. Laying

Lay the Xilo growth cover on as flat a surface as possible.

The inside should face upwards (this is where the tension veneers are attached).

2. Shaping

Pull the outer veneers toward each other.

3. Fixing

Loosely thread a piece of eyelet wire with a length of at least 220 mm around the two outer veneers and twist it.

Attach with wire to the stake

1. Positioning:

Place the performed Xilo-growth cover over the tree and the stake.

Mak sre that

·   the tree is centered in the guard

·   theends of the wire are centered on the stake

·   theeyelt wire is threaded over the stake and then twisted tightly

2. Fixing

Thread at least three more eyelet wires at the height of each tension veneer around the stake and the two outer veneers and twist them together.

The advantage of this fastening method is that the stake doesn't contain any clamps.

Variant without pre-tying of the Xilo-growth cover

This assembly variant is recommended for the Xilo-sweep protection

1. Positioning:

Place the unrolled Xilo tree guard at an angle of approx. 45° to the tree on the peg. The four shaping clamping veneers must face the tree.

2. Attaching the first outer veneer:

Attach the first outer veneer to the stake with clamps and making sure that

·         the clamps are placed at least at the height of each tensioning veneer

·         the tensioning veneers are also fixed to the stake

·         the clamps are placed perpendicular to the wood grain and lie flush with the surface

·         the clamps don't protrude and don't penetrate too deeply into the wood

·         the wire isn't stapled so that it can later fall to the ground and rot there

3. Attaching the second outer veneer:

Now bend the Xilo tree guard around the tree and attach the second outer veneer on the opposite side to the peg as well (as described in step 2).

If necessary, the protruding wires can be twisted together.
